By C. A. Webb "Conversations Book Club" (Jackson, MS) Carl Mathis' INTERCOURSE Takes You Into The Real Conversation Behind God's View Of Sex,

There is something about Christians discussing sex that makes some feel uncomfortable and leads them to avoid the conversation. That, however, is part of what author Carl Mathis discusses in his thought-provoking book INTERCOURSE. We are all asked to put our feelings about discussing the topic to the side in order to take a look at sex and sexuality through the eyes of our Creator.

The truth is that God created sex to be something beautiful but also something that served a purpose: that is to procreate. As Mathis discusses in the book today some have made sex dirty not only by the way it is approached but because the purpose of some is not in line with what God appreciates. If we are truly honest with ourselves for some sex has become just something to do and to others it is a badge of honor to see how many people you can get into your bed. Mathis looks at this in a way that doesn't judge but makes clear the importance of not allowing what our bodies might crave to lead us into a path that is dangerous and has disastrous consequences.

There are so many reasons we know of to abstain from sex if we are unmarried. Even those who might not recognize God's path for them and His purpose for them they should be able to see the importance of thinking more of themselves than just to give themselves to anyone.

Again this is a topic that is not easy to approach, but when it is being delivered in love and with understanding it makes it easier to accept and hopefully take head to. Intercourse is the kind of book that we all need, taking us into the real conversation behind God's view of sex and of us. There is no way you can read this book and not come away changed.
